What margin call and stop-out mean

How your open positions can be closed.

Margin is the money held to keep a leveraged position open.

A margin call is a warning that your account equity is getting low compared with the margin your open positions use.

A stop-out is when positions are closed automatically because equity has fallen too far. Losses can build quickly, and a stop-out can close your positions at a loss.
